Shooting on the streets of Surrey, B.C. left a young woman dead Monday. Her four-year-old son in the back seat was not hit. The woman was driving at about 10:30 a.m. when her Cadillac was sprayed with gunfire on the driver's side. The car coasted through an intersection, and was steered across a sidewalk and up onto the driveway of a house. Police arrived on the scene to find the woman dead and the little boy terrifide. The child appeared to be unhurt, but he was still being looked at to make sure he still didn't get any injuries.
Gunshots in the neighbourhood, which is around a large forest that hunters hunt in. are not unusual, said a young lady, who lives next door to where the victim's car ended up.
The young lady was out at the time but raced home after hearing from her folks, only to find the street behind police tape and media everywhere. When the shooting occurred another women, who stayed home from high school Monday morning because she was feeling sick, heard what she thought was loud firecrackers going off. The 14-year-old didn't realize the sound was gunfire until she looked out the window and saw police cars.
Reading about a story like that, makes you think what really is our world coming to. People are shooting up cars with little children in them not having a care in the world. Like what is wrong with the governement? They can't keep our crime under control? I know its not our government but still, people are dying becasue they can't keep our ecnomy under control.

This story really bummed me out. My daughter will be four in May, and I can only imagine what that child was going through. At four years old, you are old enough to know what is going on. That child would have known if his/her mother wasn’t moving, or was bleeding, or was hurt. That poor baby must have been so scared.
ReplyDeleteyou never really hear of shootings in Canada in urban areas unless you are in a bad area. But still, it didn’t say if it was a drive-by or anything like that either so, who’s to say was caused the shooting.
I think it’s dumb to hunt in an area that has houses and intersections. Plus the woman they interviewed said that the hunters are always around that area, but the description said the car was sprayed with gunfire. You have to be pretty stupid to think that a hunter would spray a car with gunfire. What are they hunting? LOL!
Yea, what is our country coming to. Gun shootings, knife stabbing ect. All this violence happens everyday and sometimes for no reason. I read an article similar to this one a few years ago, and they luckaly caught the man who shot, but he only got 15 years in prison without paroll. He killed someone and only serves 15 years... I bet the guy was out earlier then that. I think some of the things has to do with the court systems and how they are not as effective. I mean some people go to jail and they did nothing wrong. It is a messed up world I think.
ReplyDeleteSeeing someone get shot right in front of your face is one of the worst things someone can experience, especially when you are young because things like that stick with you for the rest of your life and you may hsave nightmares afterwards. I still remember certain things i have seen when i was younger and it just doesnt go away. That poor child has to grow up without his mother.
