I read this book on how to retail. I am not to sure on the name of the book, I did read it about 3 months ago from a public libary.
The book is about how to be a retailer. It explains to you how to sell a product, how to up sell products, how to speak to a customer, and how to deal with angry customers. I really found the book interesting because I am in retail myslef and I have to deal with that kind of thing every day, actually i have for 3 years now. But the book did have some things in there I didn't know about retailing.
When the book explained how to sell a product and how to up sell, all I could think about was days I am at work selling like crazy. Sellin a prduct to a customer for me is easy. All you have to do is find out what the customer is looking for, in what colour, what type of style the customer has, pretty much look for the customer needs. Once you know the customers needs and the customer is tryin things on in a change room and they are debating on what they like and don't like, always suggest another product to them, maybe a product a little more expensive to help yours and the companies UPT(Units Per Transaction).
The Part of the book that went through how to deal with angry customers, really got to me. I have delt with anrgy customers, but not the types in this book. The types they explained in this book were like parents mostly who let there kids shop alone and their child either gets sumthin not apporpriate or the parents think they over pay for them. The parents come in the next day or the same day, being very loud and rude to the sales rep over their child over spending or buying something unapporpriate. I have no idea how the sales rep handled that customer so well, myslef I have had to walk away from customers like that because I could never handle that. The sales rep in the book spoke to the custmer calmly and gave suggestions, told the customer the policy, and everything went well. I wish customers in real life were like that.
The book about retailing, inspired me very much. I enjoyed the book alot, I wish I remember the name of it to suggest it to people who are interested in retailing or are in retailing, it is a great book.

Working in retail require a lot of work and sometimes you are over worked and the pay is not that great. I remember when i was working in retail i always had to think of what my paycheck would loook like to get me throuh the day. I was wroking with people i really did not want to work with, dealing with disrespectful customers, and the whole works. But at the end of the day i got through it and learned certain techniques to help me have a better time at work
